Request AppointmentDentistry and dental prosthetics have come a long way in recent years and decades; however, dentures remain one of the most reliable and sought-after forms of tooth replacement. Capable of restoring self-confidence by rebuilding an incomplete smile, these artificial teeth allow patients to resume eating normally, speaking clearly, and smiling without the fear of embarrassment. At Kimberley Lane Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we are here to give you the customized smile you deserve, so call us today to schedule your consultation.
Living with tooth loss can take its toll on your physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. This is why it’s important to seek help from a trusted dental professional sooner rather than later. Fortunately, at Kimberley Lane Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we can evaluate you during a scheduled consultation to determine if partial, full, or implant dentures are right for you.
Generally, if you’re without multiple missing teeth, we can suggest a partial denture. If you are missing an entire arch, you have the option of a traditional denture that relies on natural suction or an implant denture that is affixed to surgically placed dental implants.
The type of denture you receive is ultimately dependent on how many teeth you are missing. We offer partial, full, and implant dentures – options you and your dentist will discuss during your appointment.
A gum-colored acrylic base and natural-looking artificial teeth will come together as part of a metal framework to replace multiple missing teeth along an arch. The prosthesis fits similarly to a puzzle piece, attaching to natural abutment teeth with metal clasps. If you require a partial denture, know they can be easy to remove and are highly effective in filling in the gaps of your smile.
Full dentures are made from the same gum-colored acrylic base and artificial teeth but do not require a metal framework. Instead, the way they are formed requires they be anchored to your gums, relying on natural suction to hold them in place. If you would like a little added security, you can purchase denture adhesives to keep them from shifting while enjoying a meal with family or friends.
Implant dentures don’t incorporate metal clasps or natural suction but instead, use titanium posts that are surgically positioned within the jawbone. These artificial tooth roots fuse with surrounding bones to establish a firm foundation for your new set of teeth. Although implant dentures are likely to be costlier than traditional solutions, they offer a longer lifespan of 30+ years – a benefit many people enjoy and prefer.
Wearing dentures, no matter what kind, presents a new way of approaching daily life. Not only will you appreciate the physical changes you see when looking in the mirror each morning, but you’ll also:
